Microsoft Flight could be the re-birth of virtual aviation
13.06.11
In 2010 Microsoft
took the decision to cancel the Flight Simulator franchise,
leaving all virtual pilots and airlines in limbo as to which
direction to go next. Whilst FSX is still an excellent
simulator, the lack of future development was a worry for our
community. But we are very excited to hear of a brand new
software company, set up by Microsoft, to re-launch the extremely
successful Flight Simulator franchise. The first new version
since FSX, will simply be called "Microsoft Flight" and is
expected to be released before the end of this year. We are
already developing tools and training elements with Microsoft
Flight in mind.
The new title will be available on the Games for Windows - LIVE
service and will bring a new perspective to the long-standing
"Flight Simulator" franchise. From new game play elements and
enhanced scenery and terrain to new aircraft and integrated
content marketplace, it is an entirely new breed of virtual
flight. The Games for Windows - LIVE platform sets the stage for
all your virtual flight needs while connecting you to a global
base of users, content and endless exploration. Microsoft Flight
builds off its heritage of deep, immersive simulation and is
redesigned to make the experience easier for virtual fliers of
all interests and skills.

Trouble in Syria puts
question mark
on Damascus passenger services
11.06.11
The geopolitical situation in Syria is worsening, and
this instability means questioning the British Virtual
Airways service. Currently, we operated
a daily flight using
an Airbus 330. The route structure currently flown is
London Heathrow - Damascus - Doha. There is a
possibility that the service will be de-linked from
Damascus and become a direct service to Doha. More
soon...

Airbus 318-100 launches today
15.09.10
Today marks the
launch of the Airbus 318-100 in the BVAir.com
fleet. The aircraft is now positioned at London City airport
and starts the same schedule as British Airways on the run to
New York city. We advise our Euro Fleet pilot that they are
eligible from today to operate the service which runs twice
daily, mirroring the BA timetable. Pilots can download the
Flight Simulator X model from their download page, and will also
need to update their flight plans with the latest version, which
includes the new route. Our timetables now reflects the new
schedule, and our route map will be updated shortly.
The
aircraft is configured exactly as British Airways, with 32 Club
World beds in and 2-2 configuration. We have also included a
Virtual Cockpit for the model. We look forward to receiving your
feedback on the route and aircraft model.
